Point of View
Tessie wanted her son to choose so she would have a less chance in being the chosen one. ¨ think we ought to start over," Mrs. Hutchinson said, as quietly as she could. "I tell you it wasn't fair. You didn't give him time enough to choose. Everybody saw that (Jackson page 6).¨
The theme of this story is every year the towns have a tradition to have everyone get together. They do a horrific thing called the lottery. A person who picks a card with a black dot on it gets stoned to death.
I don´t think it is okay for them to stone anyone to death but i think it is good idea for all the towns to get together. ¨their talk was still of the classroom and the teacher, of books and reprimands. Bobby Martin had already stuffed his pockets full of stones, and the other boys soon followed his example, selecting the smoothest and roundest stones; Bobby and Harry Jones and Dickie Delacroix-- the villagers pronounced this name "Dellacroy"--eventually made a great pile of stones in one corner of the square and guarded it against the raids of the other boys (Jackson page 2).¨
