  • Exposition
  • "Scientific research,"
  • Brock starts to leave the dome on a "scientific journey"  to  explore the world.
  • "What is your reason for external travel"
  • Rising Action
  • Brock goes out exploring and encounters a dog and names him Brog
  • "Your name is Brog, all right?"(46).
  • Conflict
  • The Researchers take Brock and Brog to examine them. They want to examine Brog because dogs are supposed to be extinct.
  • "The scientists in Research were predictably amazed to see a live Canis familiars."(65).
  • "Brock turned and bit Brog on the tail so hard that blood started. Brog, surprised and enraged, spun around and bit Brock on the nose."(89).
  • Climax
  • Falling Action
  • "Could the outside world have healed?" (93).
  • Resolution
  • "Who knows, maybe out here you aren't the last dog."(96).
  • The scientists want to clone Brog but Brock doesn't want that. So makes Brog to bite him so they can leave.
  • Brock and Brog were released to the wild because the scientists didn't want rabies. Brock also learned that the outside world is not bad.
  • Brock and Brog were happy now and now Brock wanted to find Brog's kind.
