  • THE JAPANESE HAS BOMBED PERAL HARBOR!!
  • RELOCATION CAMP.
  • Latrines
  • December 7,1941 the Wakatsuki family waves goodbye to their Papa as he sails away for a deep sea fishing, but for the first time in forever the ships turn back and head for shore. As they watch and wonder whats going on from the docks, they get word that Japan has bombed Pearl Habor.

  • Japanese government has took Papa to prison, so momma has to care for the 10 kids and her mother. The Wakatsuki family is in search for better jobs and food, they finally settle at a Relocation Camp in Manazara Californa.

  • The experience in the camp is horrible, the barracks are to little and the food makes them sick .Their family bond is torn apart. Years later Papa is released from prison and is moved in the barracks with the rest of the family. They live like this for a very long time. Papa spends all of his days getting drunk and abusing Mama.
  • Farewell...
  • August 6,1945 the U.S drops a atomic bomb on Hiroshima ending the war, because of this many people began to leave the camp. Papa does not want to leave right away, he waits a few years then decided to leave; but by that time all the houses on the cost have been taken.
  • They find a three bedroom apartment at the Cabrivo House Project. By the time Jeanne is entering the 6th grade, but she is treated poorly because of her race. Jeanne is elected for Carnival Queen but her father doesnt accept. He is angry because he wants Jeanne to be more Japanese, but Jeanne refuses.
  • Jeanna is the first in her family to finish colledge. In April 1972, Jeanne marries an white American and has three kids, an 11 yr old and boy and girl twins. She goes to visit Manazar to accept her past, now that she has went back to visit Manazar she can now say farewell.
