  • 1. Hey kid can you help me with something? 2. I am going to send you my adress later so that you can help me, see you later.
  • Wow this house is amazing, so what do you need help with?
  • Thank you. Well I need help with Eclipses.
  • Great question, an eclipse is The light from one celestial body by the passage of another between it and the observer or between it and its source of illumination. But there are different kinds of eclipses such as solar and lunar eclipse. A lunar eclipse is when the Moon passes directly behind the Earth into its umbra or the shadow. A solar eclipse  is when the sun is hid by the moon
  • Well lets start off, what is an eclipse? Are there different types of eclipses?
  • Wanna know a fun fact: For a total solar eclipse to view you have to wear a certain kind of special glasses in order to see this total solar eclipse. During a lunar eclipse no special glasses are needed and if you tend to look at the eclipse it will not blind you like a total solar eclipse.
  • That is really cool, I remember reading something on a newspaper like that. During this time I thought it was just a fake because I didn't know it was possible to get blinded by the moon.
  • During a total solar eclipse the moon blocks the sun from direct sunlight to the Earth. Oh.... Wait there is one right there. I guess we are in the umbra come look it wont last long. An umbra is the strongest point which you can see a total solar eclipse. Here put on these glasses I brought you never know when they are useful. But anyway there are to umbra an umbra and a penumbra, the umbra is when you can see a total solar eclipse and the penumbra is when you can see a partial solar eclipse. The common thing between both of them they do not last long.
  • That's so cool I did not know there were differences between partial and solar eclipse, wow you learn something new everyday. Thank you but is there anything else that I need to know before we have to go.
