  • Welcome to Philadelphia! The convention begins shortly. My apologies for the heat and mosquitoes
  • I'm James Madison and I agree yet it smells like your bedpan
  • Smells &Secrets
  • I agree , we need to keep this secret, that way we can speak our views without being judged by the people
  • I'm George Washington. We need to keepe this meeting secret
  • The Great Compromise
  • We should have two houses based of thine population
  • I'm Roger Sherman, I think we should have a compromise.
  • No we should have one house based on equal vote
  • After Shays's rebellion the founding fathers of this country realized it was time for a new government. They met in Philadelphia converse about the state of the government.
  • 3/5ths Compromise
  • Did you hear they're only making us count as 3/5 a person?
  • The delegates of the convention believed they needed to keep this meeting a secret so their views on the government were kept a secret. It was smelly harsh and hot and there were too many mosquitoes.
  • Federalists vs. Antifederalists

  • Large states like Virginia wanted the legislative branch to be based off of population, but smaller states like New Hampshire wanted it to have equal vote. Mr. Roger Sherman decided to compromise.

  • We should add the peoples rights to the constitution, we could call it the Bill of RIghts

  • The congress was deciding how to set up peoples vote in legislature and they didn't know if they wanted to count slaves. So they made a compromise that slaves only counted as 3/5 of a person
  • yah but that's just so our masters can get more power. I don't like it.
  • Federalists believed that a strong new government was needed to put this country back on its feet. Anti federalists were afraid of to strong a government to work this country.
