Storyboard Text

  • A star is born from a planetary nebula. This is caused by the nebula condensing under it's own gravity.
  • A star shines for millions of years until all the hydrogen is converted into helium through nuclear fusion.
  • As the star continues to age, different elements are made into shells that surround the core.
  • On an H-R Diagram the luminosity is directly related to the temperature of the star, So as a star ages it rises up the diagram.
  • A supernova occurs when a star's own mass is so great it collapses onto itself and explodes.
  • After the supernova a black hole or a neutron star will be the result of the explosion.
