When a solid is in its begining stage, it's cold and compact, the molecules don't move at all. When it starts to heat up, it gets deformed and the molecules "loosen" and moce a lot quicker.
A Liquid molds into its container. When you start to heat it up, it'll start to "loosen" the molecules and the molecules are going to move much more quickly as they turn into a gas. The now move much quicker and farther apart.
A gasses molecules move extremely quickly and are very far apart from each other. To the right of me, is an example of what gas molecules look like,
