  • the narrator introduces the location, time, mood, and him/herself as the main character. the narrator is woken up by some tapping on his door.
  • falling action
  • the narrator opens the door while his heart races only getting faster until he sees that there wasn't anybody there at his door. So he opens the window and a raven flies in and perches and a bust above his door.
  • resolution
  • the narrator asks the bird if it knew if he'll ever see "Lenore" ever again, if it was sent by Lenore or God and the angles. But the raven only says nevermore as if that's the only thing it can say.
  • example of allusion
  • The narrator gets angry at the raven for saying he'll nevermore see hi love "Lenore" and asks it to leave him alone.
  • the narrator begins to loose his mind all about the talking raven that is still sitting on his chamber door.
  • the mention of the Greek god Pallas is an example of allusion of a mythical god from ancient Greeks.
