  • Japan Colonization/Imperialism
  • Japan, stop! This is not your land, stop trying to take it!
  • No! I want an Empire in Asia, and I will get it! No one can stop us!
  • U.S. Oil/Steel Embargo on Japan
  • Us, Great Britain, and the Netherlands are freezing your assets. These aggressive actions must stop immeditaely!
  • Well, we'll just see about that.
  • Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, & the Surprise Attack
  • The Japanese are attacking! Help!
  • Japan was trying to take over many countries such as China, Indonesia, and Manchukuo. The U.S., Great Britain, and Netherlands froze Japan's assets and the U.S. demanded that Japan stop their aggressive actions.
  • Japanese-Americans Get Treated Badly
  • Sir, I'm going to have to ask if you have any weapons in this house.
  • Japan got its oil from America. America cut off Japan's access to their oil because Japan kept trying to take over countries in Asia.
  • FDR "Date which will live in infamy"
  • Yesterday, December 7, 1941 a date which will live in infamy, the U.S. was suddenly and deliberately attacked. 
  • Japan bombed Pearl Harbor by "surprise" and tried to destroy the U.S. Pacific Fleet. America had two warnings of the attack but ignored them.
  • Hawaii Turns Into A Military Base
  • I need your fingerprint and your identification card now ma'am.
  • After the attack, the Japanese citizens that lived in the U.S. were treated very poorly. They were spat on, called names, and soldiers would come into their homes to see if they had weapons. 
  • You have no right to be in here! This is my home!
  • Franklin D. Roosevelt said that December 7th would live in infamy because the day had a sad reputation because of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
  • Barriers were put up on the beaches and buildings were turned into military offices. Citizens had to be fingerprinted and carry identification cards. This went on for 3 years.
  • Oh yes, right away.
