Oscar is a significant character because it was important to our narrator and it was his only friend no matter what happens Oscar was there for him.
"Where is hope?I asked 'who has hope?' 'son' Mr.P said 'you are going to find hope and more hope the farther and farther you walk away from this sad,sad,sad reservation"(43) Mr.P play an important role in the story, He is the one who tells Arnold to change 'everything',To do something that no one had ever do.

"Yes there are places left in the world where people are named Penelope! I was emotionally erected."(59) Penelope is discribed as a pretty girl.Penelope is significan because Arnold is developing feelings for her and he would do everything to get her attention.

The Andruss Brothers are the cruelest triplets in the story of the world and they are thirty years old, they usually beat Arnold and call him by many bad nicknames. This characters are significant because they are always bullying ArnoldAnd affects our narrator psychologically. "All three of them shoved me to and fro.They were playing catch with me."(21)
