  • Philosophy
  • The People's Reaction
  • It's Hoover's fault!!!
  • Hoover was a republican, he did not want to interfere with the people during the Great Depression. He thought it was better to leave the people to solve this problem on their own.
  • Who Was FDR?
  • He believed the govt. should not interfere. He tried to relieve farmers with some ideas, but only got them in greater debt.
  • Philosophy
  • People wanted to see an effort, & when they saw that he didn't try to help they blamed him for the depression getting worse & made places like "Hooverville" their anger towards him caused his downfall in the election.
  • The People's Reaction
  • FDR, nephew of T. Roosevelt, was a democrat who decided to take action towards helping the people as much as he could to try to relieve the Great Depression.
  • He wanted to bring drastic & immediate change to the economy. He made many work programs like the Civilian Work Administration, Tennessee Valley Authorization & many other programs in order to help.
  • People liked seeing FDR at least trying to help them during the depression, causing his victory in the election.
  • We made a great choice.
