  • "I would be crossing the Atlantic-a trip the could last anywhere from one to two months-during the summer when no formal education took place." -Charlotte
  • "I found myself in a narrow, dark passageway with a low ceiling." -Charlotte
  • "It's true, miss. He's abusing us. And you. Mark my words. No good will come of it." -Barlow
  • Charlotte is going on a voyage to Providence to meet with her family once again.
  • "I've come, to be one of the crew." -Charlotte
  • Charlotte was given a narrow cabin for her to stay in and it is in very bad conditions and a stench of rot permeated the air.
  • "Jaggery dropped into the roaring foam and passed beneath the ship, not to be seen again." -Charlotte
  • Barlow is warning Charlotte that she shouldn't be on the ship because of Captin Jaggery's actions, but she doesn't believe him because she has only seen one side of him.
  • "Charlotte!" -Zachariah
  • "I've decided to come home." -Charlotte
  • Charlotte is giving up her position in high society and is becoming a crew member.
  • Jagger is trying to kill Charlotte before the arrive to providence and he ends up falling off the ship lost in between the waves and is never to be seen again.
  • Charlotte ran away from home to be a part of the crew and have her freedom away from her parents.
