  • Martin Luther lives in Germany. Because he had an education he is able to read Latin, unlike most followers of the Roman Catholic Church. This meant he could read the bible which, during the time, was only written in Latin while most people could only read English.
  •
  •
  • Luther is struck by Lightning. He takes this as a sign from God to become a monk so that is what he does.

  • After becoming a monk Martin Luther re-reads the Bible and begins to notice that some things the church does, such as selling indulgences, isn't mentioned in the Bible.
  • Martin Luther writes 95 theses about how he disagrees with many things the Church does, such as the selling of indulgences. He nails it to the Church door at night so that in the morning it will be read by the Church.
  • When the Church reads the theses they demand that Luther takes back what he said or be excommunicated from the church but Luther refuses and continues protesting against the Church
  •
  • People listen to Martin Luther and begin losing faith in the Church so they leave and reform the Church.
