English 3 Crucible

Storyboard Text

  • The Dancing in the Forest (Act 1)
  • Enough! Stop it this instant!
  • Mary Warren explains her disappearance (Act 2)
  • Court?! What court?
  • I am an official of the court!
  • Danforth asking about the affair (Act 3)
  • No He did not.
  • This is basically what is thought to be the start of the whole witchcraft hysteria and the "cause" of the sickening of Betty and Ruth.
  • Betty wining at the sound of the psalm (Act 1)
  • *From outside* "Going up with Jesus"
  • *Wines loudly*
  • This scene is significant because it shows the beginning Mary Warrens rebellious side, which then leads to her turning against John Proctor.
  • The Accusation of Elizabeth Proctor (Act 2)
  • You've said that twice.
  • ... Thou shalt not make unto any graven image.
  • This scene moves the plot because when Elizabeth says no to the affair it tells Danforth that Johns story about Abigail having a grudge against Elizabeth was a lie.
  • Hale Quitting (Act 3)
  • This moves the plot along because it starts the hysteria of working with the devil because people say that shes working with the devil because she cant hear the lords name
  • I will cut my hand off before touching you again
  • How you call me child
  • This moves the plot along because it brings up the the real meaning of the witch trials which is like a game of vengeance. (Like Abigail against Elizabeth) It is also significant because the act of adultery is the main thing that started the witch trials.
  • Adultery John...
  • This plays a big role in the play because it shows that people are starting to realize the wrongness that is happening in the court and that the court is based of vengence
  • I QUIT
