The king has reopened his dinning hall and has agreed to throw a party for the great hero Beowulf. While there are people who do not think Beowulf is great enough to defeat the monster. He only needs his confidence to convince the king himself. Beowulf told them of his victories and about how many monsters he has slayed. The queen was grateful to have a hero save her people.
As the night grew longer the king and his Queen had set off to bed, leaving Beowulf and his thanes to fight Grendel if he so chooses to show up. The men where drunk and not fully prepared to actually fight this beast. Beowulf had no doubts on who would win this fight tonight.
