In the kingdom of the Danes, there was a king named Shild. From him followed From him followed Beo, then Healfdane, and finally Hrothgar. As king, Hrothgar built a mead hall, Herot. His warriors would celebrate here, which disturbed an evil monster named Grendel. Grendel decided to attack Herot at night and kill many of the men. So Herot remained abandoned for 12 years. That is until the fateful day when Beowulf of the Geats came.
" Unferth, I had fought monsters during this challenge. You nor Brecca can match my strength. I will stay the night in Herot and kill Grendel. "
" Beowulf, I don't believe you can do this. You lost that swimming challenge with Brecca. That was a foolish contest."
I'm Grendel and I'm about to kill every man in Herot! "
" I kill you without weapons demon! "
" I've already killed one of your men. "
" King Hrothgar and Queen Welthow, I've killed Grendel! I tore his claw off with my bare hands! "
" Thank you Beowulf! This is a truly memorable day! This calls for a celebration at Herot! "
" Beowulf, this is a good thing you did here today, thank you. "
After Beowulf killed Grendel, the king ordered Herot to be cleaned. They held their celebration there where Beowulf and his men received many gifts. While they were celebrating, Grendel's mother was angry. She decided to take revenge by killing Esher, Hrothgar's friend. So Beowulf went after Grendel's mother.
