Boobie is excited about the season, he has become a star player and is ready to get a championship and have all the eyes be on him.
Boobie goes to the doctor after a critical injury to his knee, and is told by the doctor he will be out for the season and will never play the same again.
Boobie decides to not listen to the doctor and rehabs intensively and tries with all his might to be the same kid he was before.
Boobie realizes that no matter how hard he tries he will never be who he used to be. His position is taken over by another player who is much better. So he feels there is no point of trying anymore .
