Storyboard Text

  • Do you really think anyone will come? Your father doesn't think so
  • Of course not. They're always threatening stuff. They just like to scare people
  • Sophy Rosen is my friend, that is true. Please, could you speak more softly? My children are asleep.
  • Our name is on the front door, and I see you have a flashlight. What do you want? Is something wrong?
  • This is the Johansen apartment?
  • I understand you are a friend of your neighbors the Rosens, Mrs. Johansen
  • Hold still, this will hurt
  • Get up! Come out here!
  • Ellen, take your necklace off!
  • I can't get it open! I never take it off, I forgot how to open it!
  • Chapter 5 Who is the Dark-Haired One? Ellen slept over at the Johansen's house because the Nazis were taking all the Jews
  • Annemarie Johansen. And this is my sister...
  • Lise. Lise Johansen
  • Now, you have seen that we are not hiding anything. May my children go back to bed?
  • Hours later, there was a loud pounding on the door
  • After searching through the house, the soldier got to the girls room
  • After Ellen got her necklace off, the soldier asked why she had dark hair
  • Your names?
  • Quiet! Let her speak for herself. Your name?
  • You have a blond child sleeping in the other room. And you have this bond daughter...WHere did you get the dark haired one?
  • Since the soldier was wondering where they got Ellen, Papa tore a picture of Lise out of the scrapbook, ripping it so the date wouldn't show.
  • Lise Margrete Johansen
  • The soldier sighed, ripped the pictures, and left, thankfully not taking Ellen.
