  • It is the narrator who is talking. Also, he is going to the old man's house in the story. He went to his house every night at midnight.
  • Climax
  • The conflict is Man vs. Self. It is an internal conflict with his mind. He has text to self connections with his mind.
  • Falling Action
  • He has the issue with the eye of the old man. He shines a light in his eye and carves it out. The old man was startled and wondered who and why was he there. Time can control you and it makes you rush when you have so little of it.
  • Resolution
  • In 3 or 4 minutes he started suffocating and his breathing got slower and slower until he died.
  • He cut off the arms and legs. He is sane. The night waned, worked hastily in silence. He was going crazy because he did all that stuff and his mind was powerful.
  • The narrator is insane. He has full control of his mind. Sense of hearing has become more powerful. He heard sounds he has never heard before. He heard sounds from heaven.
  • I can hear sounds from Jesus!
