  • Hey Ashley! Do you know anything about the phases of mitosis? about cytokineses? and interphase?
  • Only a little. Interphase is the resting phase that is between successive mitotic divisions of a cell.
  • Wow! You know a lot! tell me more about the phases and cytokineses!
  • The first phase is prophase, its when chromosomes condense and become visible and the nuclear envelope disappears.
  • Can i sit with you and tell me more about the phases? I'm getting tired standing up
  • Sure! Go ahead! The second phase is Metaphase and its when chromosomes align, which two kinetochores of each chromosome should be attached to microtubules from opposite spindle poles.
  • Ok!
  • The third one is Anaphase! It's where centromeres divide and is the stage of mitotic or meiotic division.
  • Wow! Can you tell me the other two? If you can, can you hurry up. I have to head home in a bit.
  • Ok! the last phase is telophase and is where the new nuclei is formed and is the final phase of the cell division.
  • I have to go now! Thanks for the help!
  • Any time! See you at school!
  • Cytokineses is the division of the cytoplasm to form two new cells.
