While the Constitution was in the process of being ratified in 1787, Madison worked with Hamilton and Jay to compile 85 essays to support the document, now called the Federalist Papers.

You think Madison was finished after all that? No way. After the Constitution was passed, he wrote 19 amendments; ten of which were passed and are now known as our Bill of Rights
