  • Odysseus is very brave as shown throughout the whole story. Odysseus leaves his home for the Trojan War  knowing very well that he might never come back. What makes this scene even bravery is that he had just had a child and know had to leave his wife and home.

  • Because Odysseus had told him that his name was Nohbdy the cyclops couldn't get any help from the other cyclops.
  • Odysseus uses his intelligence to trick the cyclops into drinking to much wine and falling asleep.
  • While the cyclops is asleep, Odysseus and his men stab him in the eye blinding him.
  • 
  • Odysseus shows one of his worse traits which is his temper in this scene. Odysseus and his men have finally gotten away but because Odysseus was mad about his friends death he yelled to the cyclops "O cyclops! Would you feast on my companions?... you damned cannibal?" which angered the cyclops and in return threw a boulder that beached them.

  • Odysseus shows curiosity in this scene because he is willing to have his men tie him up and reject his requests to be able to know what the sirens sound like at his own expense.
  • Odysseus's leadership skills were shown in many parts of the story but where Odysseus really stood up to the plate. Odysseus and his man came upon Charybdis and Odysseus began to give orders to his shipmates.
  • Odysseus shows his loyalty when he was trapped with Calypso but never gave consent to her and continued to long to get home.
