He the eye Of vulture-a pale blue eye with fin over it. I made up my mind to take the life of old man, thus rid myself Of eye forever.”
  • This quote develops to the central idea because it shows how the old man didn't do any wrong to him but the old man's eye is what frustrates him and gets him angry. So he decides to kill the old man.

Yes, he was dead. I placed my hand upon the heart and held it there many minutes. There was no pulsation. He was stone dead. His eye would not trouble me no more."

  • This quote develops to the central idea because it shows how he keeps hearing the ringing increase louder and louder and he thinks that the police knows he killed the old man which makes him go insane.
