  • Initial Diologue or Event
  • Puck chants, “Up and down, up and down; I will lead them up and down: I am fear’d in field and town; goblin lead them up and down””(Shakespeare 86).
  • Propels the Action...
  • Puck says to himself, "Yet but three? Come one more; Two of both kinds make up four" (Shakespeare 88).
  • Outcome
  • "When thou wak'st, thou tak'st true delight in the sight of thy former lady's eye:" (Shakespeare 89).
  • Puck is determined to make Lysander and Demetrius fall asleep. Thus, allowing him to put the flower juice in their eyes.
  • Initial Diologue or Event
  • Confused Helena utters, "Thou art not by mine eye, Lysander, found... But why unkindly didst thou leave me so?" (Shakespeare 73).
  • Puck is waiting patiently for the two pairs to come to his designated stop. He lures them all together so that he can put his magical flower juice in their eyes. This was all instructed by Oberon. Since Puck mistaken Lysander for Demetrius. Thus, making Lysander falling in love with Helena by mistake.
  • Propels the Action...
  • "Fair Helena, who more engilds the night than all ton fiery oes and eyes of light" (Shakespeare 73).
  • Puck successfully gets Hermia, Lysander, Demetrius, and Helena to fall asleep next to one another. As Demetrius and Lysander are asleep, Puck has the opportunity to put the flower juice into their eyes. Once they have awoken from their slumber, Demetrius will fall in love with Helana and Lysander with Helena.
  • Outcome
  • "You speak not as you think: It cannot be" (Shakespeare 73).
  • As Lysander chased after Helena under the spell of the flower juice. He left Hermia alone. When Hermia wakes up, she is confused as to why she is alone without Lysander by her side. Hermia finds Lysander by the sound of his voice. She confronts Lysander as to why he had left her.
  • After Hermia was done with her rambling. Lysander tells her he left to chase after his true love, Helena. Making Hermia confused to what was happening. Hermia and Lysander had planned to leave with eachother, now he is confessing his love to Helena.
  • Hermia is baffled to the words she has just heard. Her true love, Lysander has fallen for Helena. This causes more drama to come.
