Where are we? I wonder if there's anything else out here?
The Mariner is at the wedding and is telling one of the guests about the journey that he had once endured. "He holds him with his skinny hand" (line 9) (Consonance)
The journey began with the Mariner and his shipmates heading south in a land of nothing... They were all alone in the sea. "Did send a dismal sheen; nor shapes of men nor breasts we ken- the ice was all between" (lines 56-58) (internal rhyme)
The Mariner and the shipman now came upon the Albatross, the bird of "goodluck," but the Mariner killed it thinking he would bring good omens to his men.
Thinking that they are now headed for very bad events, the shipmen lash out on the Mariner and begin to yell at him for what he has just done.
The fog clears so the men think so are they... But not so fast boys. "The fair breeze blew, the white foam flew, the furrow followed free" (lines 103&104) (Alliteration)
The Mariner and shipman now have something following them... They are in trouble now. "Instead of the cross, the Albatross about my neck was hung" (line 141-142) (Assonance)
