Storyboard Text

  • Timmy is a 6 year old boy who was playing hockey at his friend’s house.
  • Timmy missed the pass from his friend and the ball rolled onto the road.
  • Timmy forgot to look both ways before crossing the road, and was struck by oncoming traffic.
  • In a panic, Timmy’s friend ran inside to get his mom. 911 was called and Timmy was rushed to the hospital with life threatening injuries.
  • Timmy’s family was called to meet him at the hospital.
  • On arrival Timmy was unconscious with cool, pale skin and a distended stomach. A compound fracture of the right femur was noted as well as multiple lacerations to the face.
  • He had a blood pressure of 58/22, respiratory rate of 40, heart rate of 204, and an axillary temperature of 35.5
  • The healthcare team went to extensive measures to save Timmy, but unfortunately could not save him. Shortly after Timmy’s time of death was announced, Timmy’s parents arrived at the Emergency Department to see their son.
