  • Sacagawea was 16 when she joined Lewis and Clark. When Lewis and Clark were in the expedition they met a girl named Sacagawea. Sacagawea knew the area well so she helped lead the way. When Lewis and Clark met Sacagawea she was 16 years old.
  • June 30th
  • Lewis and lark were the first New Americans to reach the Pacific Ocean. NO New American had reached the Pacific Ocean before them. The Pacific Ocean wasn't their territory so there was no need to be there but while they were on the expedition they went to see it.
  • Missouri river to the Columbia river.
  • Chinookan Indians were the source of harassment, stealing from their expedition's supplies. The Chinookan Indians tried takign whatever they could or wanted. To Lewis and Clark that was a form of harassment.
  • Mandan Tribe's villages
  • On June 30th to explore more of Louisiana's territory. With them splitting up gave them a free right to explore more and discover more. While they were in Louisiana it would be perfect for finding more things to discover. On this trip Lewis and clark discovered many new creatures and animals.
  • TO get from the Missouri river to the columbia river they required horses but they didn't have horses. The expedition would have to find the Shoshone tribe. One horse was worth a knife, and an old t-shirt. The highest price was knife, pistol, and a hundred rounds of ammunition.
  • Lewis and clark set up a camp at Mandan Tribe's villages for the winter. Here they had encountered a food problem and so their food supplies soon began to dwindle. Lewis and Clark hired an interpreter toussaint, a french canadian fur trapper living among the Hidatsa.
