  • We have debts we need to pay off, so that's why we are raising taxes. Once everyone pays taxes then we will have money to pay off our debts
  • Okay, but i'm already a poor farmer and to take care of my family I have to pay more for the things we need and for what we have and own

  • If you did not own land then you could not vote! The only way you could vote is if you were a land owning man

  • They marched onto the debtors courts so they couldn't send debtors to jail.
  • The states had debts to pay. The states started taxing ans raising tax to get the money they needed to pay their debts off.

  • Daniel Shay was an american soldier. He was the leader for Shay's rebellion. He was against tax policies and so he formed a plan. He was going to mount an attack and overrun the new federal arsenal at Springfield. He needed a new plan because they were facing an organized militia.
