The Masque of the Red Death Jessica & Oksana
Introduction: In this old countryside town, the plague is among them and is spreading like wildfire. Prince Prospero gathers citizens of the town into his abbey. He throws a masquerade party so everyone's dressed up. There are entertainers, music, food, and people are actually having a good time.
Conflict: The overall conflict is all these people are trying to cheat death, whenever they think that they have came up with so many ways to get out of it.
Prince: "Who dares"..."Who dares insult us with this blasphemous mockery? Seize him and unmask him - that we may know whom we have to hang, at sunrise, from the battlements!"
Rising Action: In the story there is a guy in a mask with blood on it. People are scared of him and they veer away. He represents the plague. There is also the mysterious clock. Every hour the clock rings. This represents the time left of their life.
Climax: Whenever Prince Prospero confronts the masked man in the black room with thd red window panes.(This room represents death) This when the masked man kills him.
Falling Action: The masked man then goes back through the rooms and throughout the abbey and kills everyone else.
Resolution: In the end of 'The Masque of the Red Death' everyone eventually finds out that they cannot run away from death. Wealth doesn't make you invincible. Death comes to everyone. The cloaked figure finally catches up to them and they die.
