Hamlet scorns the Queen for her actions upon helping kill his father, though she has no clue of what he speak. She is very frightened.
The queen cries for help and Polonious, fearful of what will happen next, yells "What ho! Help!". Hamlet, in a confusion kills Polonious behind he curtain, thus mistaking him for the king.
Hamlet, after having yelled at the queen so viciously and killing Polonious, the ghost of his father returns to remind him of what his actual purpose is, and that is to seek revenge upon king Cladius, not the queen.
