Harriet Tubman was born in March, 1822. She was born in Dorchester Country,MT. She grew up with 6 saplings. She worked in the houses when she started to walk, then seven years later she started working in the fields.
One day while Harriet was working in the field she heard the overseer screaming at a young boy and threatening to throw a two pound weight at him. She ran in front of the boy while the weight was being thrown and she got hit. She was hurt bad and was asleep for a month.
After she recovered from her injury, she planned an escape. She would run away at night, but where would she go? She would help other run away slaves to safety.
