Daedalus was a great artist and architect. King Minos invited him to Crete to design a giant maze, the Labyrinth, for his pet The Minotaur to live in.
One day, a group of children went into the maze and killed the Minotaur, then found there way out. Minos was sure that Daedalus helped them, but the architect was actually innocent. Daedalus and his son Icarus were put in the labyrinth as punishment.
Suddenly, Daedalus had a brilliant Idea! What if he made wings to fly away from the maze?
"Icarus, come down!
While they were flying away, Icarus flew too close too the sun. Daedalus had warned him, but Icarus hadn't listened. The wax that held together Icarus's wings began to melt.
Icarus was never seen again, but Daedalus made it home safely.
