Storyboard Text

  • TONE
  • MOOD
  • Static character
  • Hopeless:  the word that fits this scene the best is hopeless because at the beginning nobody believed that Doodle was going to live and they didn't even name him. "Everybody thought he was going to die" "When he was three months old ....they decided to name him."
  • Dynamic character
  • Peaceful: This scene made me feel peaceful because the moment that Doodle and the scarlet ibis had was special. " He carried the bird around to the front yard and dug a hole in the flower garden"
  • THEME
  • I miss Doodle
  • The narrator which is the brother is considered the static character because all the story he was selfish and mean to his brother Doodle.
  • Doodle is a dynamic character as well because throughout the story he learns to do different things like learn how to walk and talk since he changed he is considered to be a dynamic character.
  • The main theme for this story is to appreciate what you have no mater what the value of the item is. Just like how the Brother learned his lesson as to take care of what he has. You wont know how long you would have it for and in seconds it could disappear.
  • 1. "He collapsed onto the grass like a half-empty flour sack". The author used this simile to make the reader understand that Doodle is really weak and he cant stand on himself. 2. "for it layed on the earth like broken vase of red flowers." The author used this simile to explain to the reader that the bird was on the floor and looked as if he was broken a dead.
