V.O-However, King Aeolus denies to offer any more provisions to the guests after Odysseus's crew fail to keep the bag of wind secure, as they wreak upon the shore of Aeolia once again. The lord of the winds, Aeolus exclaims on pg 114 to Odysseus that, “The god’s must truly despise you, and I will not go against their will. Leave my hall and never return.” This means that the implication of hospitality was disregarded when one’s fate seemed to disfavour and be despised by the gods. Hence, the sole kindness of one’s heart and generosity seems to not be the only reason as to why this social convention of hospitality was prevailing.
