  • This act was recommended by Douglas. It divided the area/border of Kansan and Nebraska into two territories.  It became a law in 1854.
  • I suggest The Kansas-Nabraska Act
  • The slavery supporters and anti-slavery supporters all raced to move into the new territory.
  • During the voting for becoming a free or slave state "border ruffians" from Missouri entered Kansas and voted illegally.
  • A Grand jury the supported proslavery condemned the people of Lawrence as traders and ordered the local sheriff to arrest them.
  • You're all under arrest.
  • John Brown led a group into the settlement at Pottawatomie Creek and killed 5 men because they had thought that 5 men were killed during "The Sack of Lawrance".
  • You took 5 live now we take 5!
  • Kansas ended up becoming one of the most violent battlefield during a civil war.
