  • Lafayette stationed some men at Barren Hill for an ambush on the Redcoats.
  • Unfortunately, a British general received word of the ambush, and counter-attacked near the river to take them by surprise.
  • Lafayette called another retreat, and saved the lives of most of his men, resulting in few casualties.
  • After his honor and bravery on the battlefield, Barren Hill was renamed... Lafayette Hill.
  • During the Battle of Brandywine, Lafayette was shot in the leg, but he survived! Unfortunately, the American army lost this battle.
  • In the end, Marie-Joseph-Paul-Yves-Roch-Gilbert du Motier de Lafayette's contributions help win Americas freedoms.
