  • Amendment l: Protects the freedom of religion, speech, press, and the right to peacefully assemble. Amendment ll: Protects the right to keep and bear arms. Amendment lll : restricts the quartering of soldiers in private homes. Amendment lV : Protects against unreasonable search and seizure, and requires a warrant, supported by probable cause, in order for arrests to be made.

  • Amendment V: Protects against double jeopardy and self-incrimination, and guarantees the right to due process, compensation for losses under imminent domain, and the right to a grand jury. Amendment Vl : Guarantees the right to a fair and speedy trial by an impartial jury, the right to confront witnesses, the right to requests witnesses to appear in court, the right to be presented with all criminal charges, and the right to a jury.
  • Amendment VII:Guarantees jury trial in civil cases dealing in excess of $20, and facts found by a jury cannot be overruled by any judge. Amendment VIII: Prohibits excessive bail, and cruel and unusual punishment. Amendment IX : Prevents the government from claiming the peoples only rights are those explicitly stated in The Bill of Rights. Amendment X: Any power not designated to the national government is given to the states and to the people.
