Storyboard Text

  • Call to Action
  • Refusal of the Call
  • The Road of Trials
  • Cassia Reyes' grandpa was like a mentor to her. In their dystopian society, they weren't allowed to choose their destiny. Cassia's grandpa however, gave Cassia a forbidden poem as he died.
  • The Ultimate Boon
  • Cassia, however, had some second thoughts about whether or not she should read the poem because she would be violating so many rules if she were to do that. She eventually read it, though. The words that stuck out to her were, " Do not Go Gentle." She repeatedly is reminded of this throughout the story. She also isn't sure if she would be able to beat the officials and the dystopian government.
  • The Magic Flight
  • The first trial that Cassia has to go through is the fact that no one can see her read the poem. Second, she starts to fall in love with the person that she was NOT matched with. Last, she has to deal with the same official repeatedly as she continues to ruin Cassia's life.
  • Rescue from Without
  • The ultimate boon in this story is when the officials come to take away Ky, the guy Cassia loves. They take him away and move him to an outer province. After everyone has seen the officials take violent measures, they are all forced to take the red pill, one of three colored pills they occasionally have to take, which makes you forget what happened recently. This is just one way that the officials are the villains.
  • As Cassia attempts to return to her normal life, her family is relocated to a different province away from all of her friends.
  • Cassia receives help from her match, Xander, who gives her blue pills, which give you the energy and nutrients you need to survive. Also, Xander gave her Ky's compass. All of this is an attempt from Xander to help Cassia to find Ky.
