  • The narrator is by himself thinking about his lost love. When he hears a noise.
  • " 'Tis some visitor tapping at my chamber door..."
  • The narrator goes to the door and sees no one is out there. Yet he hears a faint cry of Lenoir. A Raven appears and flies into his home.
  • When the Raven enters the home it sits on the bust. The Raven then begins to tell prophecies by answering his questions. His only answer being "Nevermore."
  • The narrator gets aggravated at the Raven's answers, and tries to get it to leave.
  • After the Raven says it is staying, the narrator feels defeated and is back in his depressed state.
