Exposition- Rainsford falls off the yacht and is left behind with one choice: head to Ship-Trap Island.
Conflict- Rainsford washes up on the island and meets a man named General Zaroff, who also hunts; except Zaroff hunts people in a twisted game of cat and mouse. He challenges Rainsford to this game: survive for 3 days or die.
The Dead Tree Malay Mancatcher
Rising Action- Rainsford sets up three different traps in hopes of stopping Zaroff.
The Burmese Tiger Pit
Climax- Rainsford jumps off a 20 foot cliff into the water to elude General Zaroff, making him think Rainsford has died and lost the game.
Falling Action- Rainsford swims to the General's home, and surprises him once he heads to sleep.
Resolution- The General declares Rainsford the winner, but for Rainsford, the game must end in death. The General agrees, wanting for the game to continue, but is killed by Rainsford, who, inturn, sleeps in the General's bed.
