Storyboard Text

  • Popular sovereignty allows me to vote for my representatives.
  • The Constitution limits government power to what the people give it.
  • Separate but Equal
  • The power of the government is split between three branches: the Executive branch, the Legislative branch, and the Judicial branch.
  • Thanks to Judicial Review, the other Supreme Court members and I determine if the actions of the Legislative and Executive branches are constitutional.
  • In the Constitution, a system of checks and balances is established so that no one branch overrules the other two.
  • The government system of the U.S. is called federalism. In this system, power is distributed between the individual states and the federal government.
