Bruh, what's this Piece-Wise stuff this paper is talking about
It's pretty simple actually, allow me to explain.
A Piece-Wise Function is defined by multiple sub-functions, each sub-function applies to a certain interval of the main function's domain.
I'm intrigued... please go on!
Here is an example: find f(x)=-2|x+1|,x< or = 1 3, 1<x<3 6-2x, x> or = 3
Solve for: f(10) f(2) f(0)
First you find that f(10) goes into the third equation because, 10 > 3. Now plug 10 into the equation so...6-2(10)=-14. Then you take f(2) and put it into the second equation because it is greater than 1 and less than 3. plugged 2 into the equation but since the equation is 3, than 3 is the answer. Finally for f(0) is 0 < or = 1, so you plug 0 into the equation -2|0+1|= 2.
So the final answers are -14, 3, and 2
Thanks for your help, bro.
