Storyboard Text

  • Dad why do you have to sell Joey... She's the best horse we've had!
  • No she's not, she doesn't plough enough land therefore is useless for our farm.
  • One day, there was a young horse named Joey. He was living on a farm with Albert and his father. Albert loved Joey more than any other horse, and thought he was brave and strong. However, Albert's father didn't like him . Joey also lived alongside Zoey, another horse that had been bought from the market.
  • I have to keep going, my captain would want me to.
  • Then, an auction was held, advertising horses for the war. Albert's father took Joey and sold him to a major called Jamie Stewart, who said that he would look after him well and take good care of him.
  • Please sir, I'm a good fighter...
  • I'm sorry, rules are rules, you're too young. Take a lap and come back next year.
  • Joey was trained by Jamie Stewart, who - as promised - looked after him. After he had been trained, he was given to Captain James Nicholls to fight in the war. Joey seemed to be the best horse : stronger, faster and braver than the rest.
  • JOEY?! IS THAT YOU??
  • During one battle, Captain James fell off Joey and was killed.Despite losing The Captain, Joey lasted till the end of the battle because he was brave and determined.
  • Whilst this was happening, Albert, 16, was trying to apply for the war, still striving to find Joey. He was unable to join for a while as he was underage. Eventually, he was a soldier and was fighting.
  • Weeks after Albert was fighting, he spotted a familiar horse... Had he seen Joey? He called out and found it was him! After the battle, they were reunited, went home and celebrated.
