In the beginning marine and land Iguanas didn't mix. The land Iguanas were jealous of the marine Iguanas because they could find food easier, since they had sharp claws. The land Iguanas had a hard life and this made them bitter towards the marine Iguanas. The marine Iguanas thought they lived in paradise, until something changed.
Their food supply started vanishing and they were forced to move onto Santa Fe Island. Little did they know this was land Iguana territory. The male land Iguanas hated the newcomers, while the females welcomed them. Especially the male marine Iguanas. Right away Itaty, a female land Iguana, and Rafa, a male marine Iguana, fell in love.
Itaty was the most beautiful land Iguana on the island. She was a vibrant yellow and reddish orange with hints of purple on her back. Rafa was as black as coal with specks of white ash that if hit by the sun just right, reflected a sleek rainbow on his back.
Rafa also had claws as sharp as knives which Itaty was very jealous of, but also fell in love with them too. They loved everything about each other but it was frowned upon to be together, until other land and marine Iguanas started feeling the same way towards each other.
Once this new way of life became popular Itaty and Rafa got married, other land and marine Iguanas decided to get married as well.
After some time they mated and raised a new breed of little land and marine Iguanas. Then the plain land Iguanas and the regular marine Iguanas died and now there is only the Hybrid Iguana breed living on Santa Fe Island.
