Jake and The Evil Elephant
Jake was talking to the rabbit and the squirrel one day when they mentioned the evil elephant. "He knocked down my tree!" said the squirrel. "And he stomped on my rabbit hole", said the rabbit. Something had to be done about the tyrant. So Jake the mouse said,"I will defeat him!"
The Rabbit and the Squirrel were both very surprised at Jake's bravery. "Really? You would do that for us?" said the faithful Rabbit. The Squirrel was very doubtful that Jake could do it. The Squirrel was tiny, but Jake was even smaller. "How could you scare away a huge elephant? You are too small!" said the Squirrel.
Jake began to doubt himself. "What if I really am too small?" he thought. So he turned to Grandfather Gerbil for advice. He explained the situation to him. Grandfather Gerbil gave him a magic stone. "When you see the Evil Elephant, stand up, stare him in the eye, and hold this." said Grandfather Gerbil. Jake had no idea how a little stone was supposed to help him, but he used it anyway.
Jake saw the Evil Elephant one day. He remembered what Grandfather Gerbil had said to do. He slowly stood up. He raised his magic stone in his hands. He stared into his cruel, blank eyes. And that was that. The Evil Elephant took one look at Jake, turned around, and ran for his life, never to return.
But that was a long time ago. Jake is an old mouse now, and doesn't do much but sleep.
