  • Alan Turning was born on June 23, 1912
  • "English mathematician, logician, cryptanalyst, and computer scientist who is considered to be the father of computer science."
  • he developed the Turing Machine in 1936. To break nazis code [ enigma] during WW2
  • Enigma changes code ever 24 hours so instead of trying to figure it out he built a turning machine that animatedly save 14 million lives and shorten the war by 2 years
  • Turing was prosecuted in 1952 for homosexual acts He accepted chemical castration treatment, with DES, as an alternative to prison.
  • Turing died in 1954, 16 days before his 42nd birthday, from cyanide poisoning. An inquest determined his death as suicide, but it has been noted that the known evidence is also consistent with accidental poisoning.
