  • During the Bays of Invasion, the CIA was training a group of Cubans to invade Cuba, and overthrow Castro. The Kennedy administration expected to follow the revolution, but they didn't. Since they lost, the US lost global prestige and Soviet Union started to support Castro. 
  • Fine Khrushchev, you have a deal. But this political feud will not end. 
  • On October 15, 1962, American spy plane, U-2, revealed that the Soviet Union was building missiles in Cuba and United States was in a state of crisis.
  • Throughout October 16 and October 24, 1962, Kennedy meets with his advisors to decide what to do. On October 24, 1962, he decided that he would blockade Cuba with  naval quarantine. 
  • Throughout October 23 - 27, Khrushchev and Kennedy exchanged letters to try to solve a negotiation between the two countries. US had to remove their missiles from Turkey and promise not to invade and the Soviet Union had remove its missiles from Cuba 
  • Hello, I have a deal. I will remove the missiles from Cuba but only if you remove your missiles from Turkey and you will not invade Cuba.
