the definition of bias is prejudice in favor of or against one thing, person, or group compared with another. For example lets say that fox news is doing a report on a man that died because he fell out of a window, and if they leave out important information like that a man threw him. That is media bias.(some examples are bias by omission ,bias by labeling , bias by selection of source , and bias by spin)
I CAN'T BREATH......I CAN'T BREATHHHH................ .My claim is that there is media bias .One reason is that if a media leaves out important information that is bias . Another reason is that if the use bias by selection of source like if they use a source that only supports on side .Lastly they can use bias by labeling ....this means they use other names then their .
since my first reason is bias by omission then i am going to give two examples of bias by omission .For my first example im going to give a example .like yesterday i was reading a news report about a guy that was chocked to death by the police and i remember that in the videos he was saying i can't breath and in other news reports they put that in but they didn't put it in the report i was reading yesterday .Another evidence is because i was reading another report about a man that was killed by the police because they didn't have a seat belt ,but in the article they didn't put the part when the driver could hear the man yelling for help .
for my second reason which is media by selection of source. On the report on the guy that got chocked out by the police they only quoted the police and they use information that made the police look good .Another piece of evidence when the a man go shot by the police and they only said stuff about the police and how he was defending himself but they didn't say anything one the side of the victim
lastly my reason is they can use bias by labeling they could call the officer a better word than the victim like they could call the the officer a hero like they did in this article about the guy that got chocked out .Another piece of evidence is when the they called the officer white and color .
You guys may say that its not the news stations fault they are just doing reports it not their job to make it good. I can totally understand but they still can decide who to listen to and where to get the info and how much you put.
what i want you to do after you read this is to don't jump to conclusions what i want you guys to do is when your reading a report read both sides and then decide who you believe i can't change your opinion but i can help you
so once again my claim is that there is media bias. my three reasons are that they use bias by omission bias , also bias by labeling and bias by selection of source
