  • I am feeling very ill, but I do not want a blood transfusion because of my religious beliefs.  The Dr. told that it will make me recover quicker, but I do not what to receive the transfusion.
  • Hi, Mr. Roberts, My Name is Jon.  I will be your nurse for the day shift.  How are you feeling today?
  • Dr. Tom, Mr. Roberts refuse consent for a blood transfusion due to his religious beliefs.  We must respect his decision even if we don't agree with it.  
  • Mr. Roberts is asleep, now is the perfect time to give him a blood transfusion because he can't refuse it like he been doing.  This is going to save his life.  
  • IMIS Nurse's Station
  • We might not agree with a patient's decision, however, it is important for us to speak up and become our patient's advocate when they are unable to speak for themselves.  
  • Nurse Patient Advocate
  • The Nurse is the patient's voice when the patient is unable to speak for themselves.
  • We might not agree or understand the patient's beliefs, but as nurses, we should keep a non-bias role in order to be our patient's voice.
