Martin Luther started off a Protestant reformation by standing up against the wrong doings of the church and never backing down. He printed a Theses that would expose the church for the wrong things they have done and together him and his followers change/reduct on the power the pope and church has .

  • My name is Martin Luther and i am against the idea of indulgences and watching the church take part in the world in all the wrong ways.
  • This should teach them. The followers of the church should open their eyes and refuse the offers of indulgences and recognize that it is God alone who can deem us worthy of salvation.
  • This is an outrage! What do you plan on doing about this pope?
  • It is already being handled.
  • Martin Luther was a German monk and a professor who majored in theology. He was distraught about the worldliness and corruption of the church. The church did things they where not supposed to such as selling indulgences, competing for political power , and etc.
  • I refuse. I am not one to bow down to the likes of you
  • if you refuse you will be deemed an outlaw no one will be able to provide for you!
  • I order you to recant your teachings!

  • Martin Luther was enraged at the acts the church was participating in so he decided to take action by printing the 95 theses. Martin Luther believed that the pope had no power to release people from purgatory.

  • The Church was angered by the actions of Martin Luther and went to complain to the Pope because he was canonized by the people of his church.

  • The Church wanted Luther to recant his teachings and writing but Luther bluntly refused so the Holy Roman Emperor called luther to a diet to order him to give up his writings all together but luther then again refused and was deemed an outlaw .
  • Even though Luther was deemed as a outlaw by Charles V he still had plenty of followers who where willing to accept his teachings and following his lead by renouncing the authority of the pope.
  • Martin Luther's 95 theses spread in Germany and Scandinavia due to the printing press many preachers started to denounce the idea of church abuses and during that time Luther's followers got a new name ... Protestants.
